The Opportunity:
Our client is a progressive Auckland based business which offers a full range of smart water management solutions from water transfer to engineered solutions. The company currently seeks to employ an experienced Engineer to lead the Engineering and Design function and manage the team. This is a key role which requires significant experience in Water Treatment or Waste Water, sound engineering capabilities and leadership qualities. It represents a unique opportunity to join this division during the start-up phase and take an active involvement in the strategic direction of the business.



The Role:
Key responsibilities includes the management of the Engineering and Design function including leadership and training of six staff and provision of technical expertise. You will provide engineering compliance direction and best practice to the business, ensuring lean and effective processes are in place. You will have responsibility for providing initial contact to support the project specification and assist with the design process. You will also support the Sales Engineers and maintain regular contact with engineering consultancies and design companies. To be successful in this role, you will have a solid engineering background and will be comfortable undertaking site engineering and commissioning together with leading change within the team with a focus on professional development.

The Criteria:
The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental engineering.

• Sound leadership skills with the ability to set standards and build capability.
• Robust project management skills together with a good level of problem solving knowledge.
• Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Planning and prioritisation capabilities.
