The Opportunity:
A great opportunity for an individual with specialist skills and experience in Water Treatment seeking to make a career change. The role will appeal to individuals with previous business development experience in the fields of waste/water treatment. Our client caters predominately to industry, commercial clients, local government authorities, water treatment plants and housing companies to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.
The Role:
The Business Development Manager will work within the Commercial team and will focus on customers in the Water Treatment market across New Zealand. This division offers a full design, build and installation service in the industrial, commercial and municipal markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing market share and sales revenue, consolidating key customer relationships and developing new business. They will build productive relationships with clients and effectively liaise with a variety of key stakeholders across a range of business functions.
The Criteria:
The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Chemical, Mechanical or Environmental engineering. They will have engineering and design knowledge as the role requires an ability to design and specify systems, undertake costings, quotations and tender documentation. They will also be capable of project management from the initial stages through to completion.
In addition you will have the following:
- Sound business development skills, a commercial understanding and an ability to set strategy and target opportunities.
- Energetic and capable of rolling their sleeves up.
- Excellent technical understanding, together with innovation and solution selling skills.
- Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Superior Relationship building abilities, with the skill to engage with personnel in the engineering and design professions.
- Excellent planning and prioritisation capabilities.
