The Opportunity:
Our client is a successful New Zealand owned business which operates in the New Zealand Retail Grocery sector. The company has a national team of Territory Managers and Sales Merchandisers who service supermarkets and food stores.
The business is currently enjoying strong growth. As a result of a recent resignation, the company is seeking to recruit an operationally focused Retail Sales Manager who will manage the company's representation at store level, working closely with individual Foodstuffs owner operators and the Field team.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for a National territory, the successful candidate will be responsible for growing market share and sales revenue, consolidating key customer relationships and managing bespoke supply contracts with individual store operators. They will lead the ongoing development of the business and implement the appropriate processes and systems to support this.
The Criteria:
The successful candidate will be capable of driving support and sales through the Retail market and will enjoy and commit to a high degree of end user interaction. In addition they will support the National Sales team and work closely with the National Key Account Manager on strategic planning and implementation.
In addition you will have the following:
- A sound background of Field Sales Management in the NZ Grocery sector.
- Exposure to direct to store delivery would be advantageous together with established relationships at store level especially within the Foodstuffs Group.
- Energetic and capable of rolling their sleeves up.
- Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Superior Relationship building abilities, with the skill to engage with at all levels of the industry.
- Sound planning and prioritisation capabilities.
